Everything You Wanted to Know About Telecalls - Well Almost!

What is a Teleclass?

A teleclass is a telephone conference call that allows you to access useful information without leaving the comfort of your home or office. Participants are given our secure conference number and pin number in advance, and call start time information. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and share with other participants on the line if you choose, making it a fun, interactive experience, or you can remain silent and simply soak up the great info you will hear and send in questions via email to the facilitator afterwards.

Is there a cost involved?

Our Ardore orientation teleclasses are free, however please check with your phone carrier as often standard long distance may apply. Basically we will not be charging you from this end, it depends on your own phone carrier. If we are running a topic specific teleclass program, there may be a cost involved to cover workbook and material costs but this info will be made readily available before you register.

How to Prepare for a Telecall

Please make sure you call from a land line. Cell/mobile phones can cause lots of static on the line, making it impossible to hear and at worst make a screeching on the phone that sounds like a murder in progress. Having years of experience with telecalls, trust us on this one, we and the other participants on the call will thank you!

Ensure that you have taken care of background noise. Kids, dogs, washing machines, traffic are perhaps some of the things that you may need to deal with before hopping on the call.

Before dialing in to the call disable the call waiting feature on your phone, if you have one. If you are getting beeps on your phone line, everyone else will be able to hear it too. Each phone company is different so please check with yours if you are unsure how to do this.

Be punctual. We allow 5 minutes at the beginning of every call to welcome participants. After this time to avoid disruption to the class we will close the phone line. You will be welcomed by the call facilitator who will welcome you to the call and ask your name. If you arrive on the call and no one appears to be there, don't worry. Chances are the group leader will be on the line within a couple of minutes.

Sounds can really get magnified in this type of setting. Sometimes if you are holding your phone too close to your mouth the result will be lots of heavy breathing on the line, which can be an interesting experience if you've never experienced it! If this should happen. the facilitator will put out a gentle reminder for participants to check their mouthpieces.

Please don't put us on speaker phone unless the room you are in is silent.

Have a pen and some paper handy in case you may want to take notes. For our Ardore orientation calls it would be beneficial to be able to access your computer so we can walk you through the site and answer your questions.

Calls unless otherwise stated will be in Eastern Time Zone (USA). Please make sure you are calling in at the right time for your time zone. When you dial into our bridge line you should not receive a busy signal. If you do, please check the number and redial.

What do I do if I want to talk on the call?

If you would like to talk, wait until there is a break in the conversation. When you speak begin by saying " this is .....(your name) from (... ). You can then proceed to ask your question, make a point etc. This way everyone knows who is talking and helps members get to know one another by voice recognition.

How many other people will be on the call?

We like to keep classes small so usually try to limit the class numbers to under 15.

How long do calls last.

Usually 45 minutes to 1 hour. Sometimes if you attend a teleclass program, the information will be shared over a 6 week period for 1 hour each week.

Why we love Telecalls!

  • They are so convenient. You can take a call from anywhere in the world, wearing whatever you want! You can be tucked up in bed with your pink fluffy slippers and a headset, learning and connecting with other fabulous women. We love that!

  • Telecalls are cost and time effective. It's as easy as picking up the phone and chatting to a friend.

  • You can connect with other women from around the globe. Unlike in person meetings you won't find geographical barriers to prevent you from making contact with others in locations around the globe. Really we come to you! : )

Look forward to catching up with you on a call soon!
